SOUNDWAVE is an innovative educational application that integrates Augmented Reality (AR) technology to facilitate learning about digital audio concepts. By using AR, it allows users to interactively explore digital audio devices and their functionalities, making learning more engaging and visually comprehensible. This application is designed to enhance the understanding of audio technology, providing a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
Learning digital audio concepts can be challenging, especially for students who struggle to visualize the technical aspects of audio devices and their functions. Traditional methods of teaching, such as lectures and textbooks, often fail to keep students engaged and may not provide clear visual representations. This gap in learning experiences can lead to frustration and a lack of interest in the subject. By leveraging Augmented Reality, SOUNDWAVE aims to bridge this gap by providing a more interactive and immersive learning platform that allows students to explore audio devices in 3D, thus improving understanding and retention.
SOUNDWAVE was developed using the Design Thinking methodology to address the specific learning needs of students in the field of digital audio.
• Empathize:Through interviews with stakeholders and user research, we identified the challenges students face in understanding digital audio concepts and the need for a more interactive and engaging learning experience.
• Define: Based on the research, we defined the core problem: students need a platform that offers a clearer, more engaging way to understand digital audio devices and concepts.
• Ideate: Brainstorming led to ideas such as integrating AR for visualizing audio devices, providing an eBook for in-depth reading, and implementing digital markers for easy access to content.
• Prototype: Prototypes were created to visualize the user interface and experience, ensuring the design aligned with the needs and preferences of students.
• Test: The prototypes were tested with students to gather feedback, refine the design, and improve interactivity features, such as adding quizzes and downloadable eBooks to enhance learning.
SOUNDWAVE is designed to offer an innovative and user-friendly platform for students to explore and understand digital audio technology more effectively.
